Adara is star blessed and betrothed to the crown prince of the fae, Gavril. But this has never been what she wanted. The first fae she meets, Evren whom she can't stop thinking about. The fae are to protect the humans from the vampires. Even though Adara doesn't like the fae she is scared of the vampires even more. How can she change her destiny?
This is the first book in the stars and Shadows. Adara is snarky and a little foolhardy. Evren is the perfect mix of shadow magic and a dark side. The world is brilliant and helps to pull you into the story. The fae queen is the perfect monster in law, in that she makes Adara feel like a bug. Gavril gave me whiplash with how he was with Adara, but it just adds sucking you in. I loved this book and can't wait to read the next book, A Kingdom of Blood and Betrayal.
