Blood and War Book 1
Demitria has lost everything and everyone save her best friend Jace. The apocalypse is upon them and the humans who remain are just trying to survive. Thinga start to change as demons start to recognize Demitria and state someone is coming for her. Soon after she meets Kellan, War of the four Horsmen who has come to kill her. But then an Archangel of death interrupts them and it causes Kellan to question what is he doing there. After a promise to spare her community, she reluctantly goes with him. Now they both must work together to get the answers they want.
This is book one in Blood and War. Demitria is a strong female lead that has a side of PTSD. Kellan is mysterious but kinda reminds me of a marshmallow, harder on the outside with a squish center. This book is mostly written from Demitria and Kellan's perspectives. With the transitions that are apparent and well done. The world where things are a mess and all seems so desolate is brilliantly explained, in how it got that way. I enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing where this writer is going to take us from here.
