Riley lives for musicals and will do anything for them, even taking her mom’s car without a license and driving hours away to see one. When she’s gets caught by her mother, not only does she get grounded, she must now work at her dad’s gaming store. Things seem to go worse for her as her ex shows up she slips that a co-worker is her boyfriend. She convinces Nathan this can work out for both of them and that she will help him get a girl he’s crushing on. What could go wrong?

This is a high school romcom with fake dating. Riley is that kid at school that wore the clothes that were too loud. Nathan is the gamer kid that lives at Riley’s father’s shop. The two are brilliant together. I originally picked this up because I’ve always loved gaming and musicals and I’m so glad that I did. Its a fun quick read that I loved. I will be on the lookout for more by Kristy Boyce because of this book.

Product description and Images are from amazon.com:

“When it comes to romance, sometimes it doesn't hurt to play games. A fun YA romcom full of fake dating hijinks!

Musical lover Riley has big aspirations to become a director on Broadway. Crucial to this plan is to bring back her high school’s spring musical, but when Riley takes her mom’s car without permission, she's grounded and stuck with the worst punishment: spending her after-school hours working at her dad’s game shop.

Riley can't waste her time working when she has a musical to save, so she convinces Nathan—a nerdy teen employee—to cover her shifts and, in exchange, she’ll flirt with him to make his gamer-girl crush jealous.

But Riley didn’t realize that meant joining Nathan's Dungeons & Dragons game…or that role playing would be so fun. Soon, Riley starts to think that flirting with Nathan doesn't require as much acting as she would've thought...”
