Katrina has never wanted anything for herself, outside of stay out of her mother’s way. She finally realizes that she must start her life for herself, only to be chosen as this year’s sacrifice to the Horseman. When she tries to get away, she is saved by the very person, the Horseman.
This is a standalone retelling of the Sleepy Hollow. Katrina is so scared of disappointing those around her or releasing her magic that she is almost stagnant in her life. It takes her mentor talking some sense into her to finally make the move to do something for herself. But she isn’t so meek as and she really blossoms within this tale. Alexander is brilliant even though there are times you want to hit him upside the back of the head. I found this to be a great read. It is perfect for the fall/Halloween season.
