Stella did a thing, and now she needs a boyfriend, for a contest that she entered to help save her Christmas tree farm. The one person she wants to ask she’s worried about ruining her friendship with, her best friend Luka. Now they just have to convince everyone that they are a couple after nine years of friendship. But the hardest part is that she has unrequited feelings for Luka and will do anything to keep things as they are.
This is the first book in the Lovelight series. Stella is a hard worker who wants to shoulder everything in her life. She’s so scared of losing those around her, she keeps taking on more. The flaws of this character are so endearing you can’t help but fall in love with her. It is a fast-moving story that kept me turning the page. Luka is the perfect friend who just likes to help take care of those he loves. This reminded me of those great Holiday Hallmark Movies, it gives all the feels. I loved this book and can’t wait to read the next one in the series, In the Weeds.
