Realms of Lore: Fae Book 1 & 1. 5 stars
Etain lives in a small village that is losing its old beliefs to a new God of light. Which is causing her neighbors to shun her. Ciaran is the Prince of Darkness that is cursed. Kes is Ciaran's cousin who enjoys a sharp tongue. While Anin is running from the Day court and just trying to survive. All four of them have a fate that they have yet to learn, but is being thrust upon them.
This is the first book in the Realms of lore: Fae series. Anin though on the run, has a great understanding of herself. The dialog between her and Kes is brilliant. Etain has such an inquisitive mind and even understood quickly what she must do, in some ways, better than Ciaran. Who is the Prince of the Night Court is struggling with how to break his curse. This book is amazing and I couldn't put it down. The change of perspective lets you see all sides of what is going on which made the world and characters more vivid.
The novela is actually a story of Taran and Kes growing up. This view of them being children to the audits they turn into. I found this back story on these two lovely. It made me understand how both had to survive never getting a true childhood, which is a bit sad. Even so it just built more onto the world and was a great quick read.
I loved reading these books and can't wait to read the next book in the series, Queen of Light.
