The reason that I am reviewing the entire trilogy is that it was how I read it. If I am starting with and author a lot of times, I may read one book to see if I like they’re writing style, but sometimes I wait till all the books in a series come out so I can binge read the whole series in one shot. This is one of those times. When I first read about the series, I knew it was going to be something I would like.
The first book opens with a young woman who finds out dramatically that she isn’t what she thought she was. The story is fast-paced and keeps you engaged throughout. Another reason I was glad that I read it in one shot. Even with the fast-pace you fall for these characters. They are flawed and amazing and you can’t help yourself. The explanation of magic in this world build was easy to follow and didn’t take away from the story.
I give the trilogy over all a great rating because I enjoyed reading it. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I believe I finished the whole thing in about two days. I will look to read more from Tessa Hale in the future, so be on the lookout.
