So I don’t read a lot of contemporary romance, but in reading what these books were about, I wanted to try them. This did not disappoint one bit. I read the entire trilogy in three days, because I couldn’t put it down.
Kaycee is a very different character in that she is a super computer genus but also falls on the autism spectrum, low on it, but still she has to deal with it. What is brilliant is how the author writes it. At first you don’t know about it and she is just fixated on finding justice for her friend. But there are a few signs that if you are paying attention you will see, and if you were not, it is something that becomes front and center in the story. The writing of a character like this is so well done.
The relationship between her and the boys is so sweet to watch the development of as well. Kaycee just doesn’t take anyone’s issues and makes sure that they all stay on task. Even when Carter tries to be a super scary dude.
This is a brilliant series and I highly recommend it. There is a spin-off series that is about the sister of Seger and Zeppelin called Bitter Notes. Which I will also write up sometime soon.
